  • Attend medical appointments and provide accurate updates to the doctor.
In cases when the patient is on supportive equipment or incapable, they also manage tube feedings, monitor oxygen supply, catheter change, stoma bag change, tracheostomy change, etc.

They also monitor and keep a check on equipment supplies like NG tube, catheter, nasal cannula, intricate, etc. which might be required by the patient.

They also administer IM/IV medications as directed by the treating physician.

     3. Communication is an important part of patient care especially with the patient, family members, and treating physician. A nurse should
  • Update family members on status of the patient daily.
  • Updated family members on seeing any new changes in behavior or health.
  • Update the treating physician through teleconsultation or email regularly regarding the patient.
