Attendant Care Services in Delhi - Curodoc Healthcare

Attendant Care Services at Home

We all know that attendants are an integral part of home healthcare and are the biggest sources of support of the patient and their families.

The duties done by an attendant are personally significant for the patient as they help the patient be independent and self-reliant. Unlike nurses, who only cater to the medical requirements of the patient, an attendant looks after their basic needs and helps them get through the day.

1. A morning routine is very necessary to feel fresh after a good sleep. Our caregivers are trained and help the patient with

· Teeth/Dental Cleaning – helping them maintain good oral hygiene.

· Bathing/Shower – assisting in showering them or sponging them as required.

· Body Lotion Application – helping them with any skin care regime that they follow.

· Clothing Assistance – getting them ready for the day in comfortable clothes.

Throughout the day, we use the washroom numerous times and so do the patients. It is not something to be ashamed of but a natural process. Our attendants help by

· Providing Toilet Assistance – taking them to the washroom or helping use a urinal or bedpan.

· Changing soiled diapers

· Changing soiled clothes

Overall looks do matter, and you feel like you look. So, maintaining the good                       looks of the patient is very important for them to feel fresh and sharp. These duties               can be done weekly or bi-monthly.

· Shaving

· Hair Trimming

· Fingernail and Toenail Trimming

· Ear Cleaning

 2. Food and diet is an essential part of recovery and a nutritiously well planned meal can help boost immunity, improve health and mood. The attendants make it a point to follow the instructions given by the nutritionist and also

· Assist in feeding.

· Ensure sufficient fluid intake.

 3. Moving is the sense of being independent and our caregivers help the patient be self-reliant and keep a keen eye on them when they are doing so to prevent any falls or misstep. They also help the home physiotherapist in getting the patient to do exercises. They also

· Assist with walking around and home exercises

· Turn positions regularly in bed

· Massage the joints and muscles to make them stronger

 4. Although, caregivers are not medically trained, but they help in medicine management by reminding and assisting the patient in taking medications and keeping a check if the medicine needs to be refilled and informing the family as required.

 5. As the attendants are there to look after the patient and their surroundings, they also

· Tidy up and maintain the patient’s room.

· Make and change bed as required.

· Take out trash from the patient’s room.

6.The most important role that they play is being a companion to the patient. They are always around them, talking to them, listening to them, and entertaining them. They might even spend time in engaging with other family members and encouraging them to spend time with the patient.
